Pain is defined as an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with tissue injury. Pain can be classified according to duration, pathogenesis, location, course, intensity and pharmacology. There are different strategies to treat pain; pharmacological treatments (focused on treating pain or reducing inflammation that will act thanks to their analgesic and/or anti-inflammatory activity) and non-pharmacological treatments, such as cryotherapy or thermotherapy, which use heat or cold as a therapeutic agent.
