Paediatric medicines should have a number of characteristics that are different from medicines intended for adults in order to make them easier to take (pleasant taste and appropriate dosage form) and thus ensure adherence to treatment. In addition, the amount to be administered to a child is not a fixed dose as in adults, but usually depends on the child's weight, so it will be appropriate to also incorporate dispensing systems (e.g., oral syringe) to ensure correct dosage according to the child's weight.
